Where are you with AI right now?
wunderwerk offers four ways into AI: consulting and strategy, AI agents for recurring processes, AI in your existing software, and your own AI operating system. Whether you are just starting out or already have a specific use case, we meet you where you are.
“We know AI can help us, but not where to start.”
In the AI workshop, we examine your processes, data and systems, assess each use case by benefit and effort, and prioritise. You receive a roadmap with concrete steps and an honest ROI assessment, even if the result is: not here yet.
“Quotes, invoices, emails: a lot of our work is still done by hand.”
AI agents read documents, answer enquiries and handle recurring processes, connected to ERP, CRM, email and your specialist software. Your team reviews and decides, the agent takes care of the routine.
“Our software works well, but without AI.”
We build language models into your existing application: chat with your data, intelligent search, classification, summaries or recommendations. No rebuild, with clear permissions and traceable answers.
“Our knowledge is scattered across Excel lists, emails and people’s heads.”
Your own platform that brings data, processes and AI agents together in one place and works with ERP, CRM and the like. We build it step by step, starting with the process that delivers the greatest benefit.
What businesses actually achieve with AI
For SMEs and mid-sized companies, AI pays off wherever many similar tasks involving documents, enquiries and data come up every day. These are the six use cases businesses typically start with: documents, customer service, quotes, company knowledge, quality inspection and reporting.
How does AI get into your business?
An AI project with wunderwerk runs in five steps: initial consultation, AI workshop, prototype in 4 to 6 weeks, integration and operation. Each step has a clear outcome and is commissioned separately, and after each one you decide whether to continue. No black box, no months without results.
- 1
Initial consultation
30 minutes with the managing director: goals, processes, data. You get an honest assessment of whether and where AI makes sense for you. Free and non-binding.
- 2
AI workshop & potential analysis
Together with your experts, we gather use cases, assess them by benefit, effort and available data, and choose the first one. The result: a prioritised roadmap with a cost range and ROI assessment.
- 3
Prototype in 4 to 6 weeks
We implement the first use case with your real data. You see early on how well the AI performs, measure quality and time saved, and decide based on results, not slides.
- 4
Integration & rollout
Integration with ERP, CRM, email and specialist software, permissions and approval steps, training for your team. The AI works where your people already work.
- 5
Operation & expansion
Monitoring, quality measurement and maintenance during operation. Then the next use case, until data, processes and AI agents come together in your own AI operating system.
AI writes code. We build software.
Thanks to wunderOS and our wunderFactory.
AI has opened up programming to everyone: anyone can put a prototype together today. Whether it turns into software that holds up in day-to-day operation is decided afterwards – in architecture, security, testing and maintenance over the years. That is exactly where prompting and real expertise part ways.
That is why we built our own operating system: wunderOS runs our company from sales to development. At its heart is the wunderFactory, where our AI agents, the wunderBots, build to the architecture rules, standards and tests from 20 years of software development – led by experienced software architects.
The result is software built noticeably faster and more affordably – in the quality you hire us for. We are AI experts and use that to get the best out of your project.

More software for the same budget
The wunderBots handle the routine work. You pay for architecture, decisions and results – not for legwork.
Live in weeks, not months
From the workshop to the first usable version, with changes after that in days. You see early on what works.
Quality is built in, not bolted on
Tests, reviews and security checks run automatically in the wunderFactory with every change – not just when there is time.
Architects, not prompters
The AI executes, we decide: data model, interfaces, operations. That way your software stays maintainable and extensible five years from now.
Bottom line: Bespoke software on terms that make sense for SMEs too – built with AI, with software architects accountable for it.

Thank you very much!

AI that keeps your data in-house
With wunderwerk, customer data, contracts and calculations never end up in someone else’s training set. For each use case, you decide which model runs where and what it is allowed to see.
For us as a team from Austria, this isn’t an add-on but the norm: EU & GDPR first.
- Hosting in the EU, on-premise or private cloud on request
Your data stays in your ownership and in your infrastructure, if you want it to.
- Free choice of model
We are not tied to any AI provider and choose per use case and protection needs.
Cloud: OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini) or Mistral AI from France, under a data processing agreement and, if you prefer, via Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud in EU data centres.
On-premise: open-weight models such as Mistral, Llama, Gemma, Qwen or gpt-oss on your own hardware.
- Permissions and traceability
The AI only sees what the respective user is allowed to see. Answers cite their source, decisions stay with people.
- GDPR and EU AI Act in mind
We plan documentation, transparency and labelling obligations in from the start instead of retrofitting them.
Not just clients. Partners.
We focus on long-term partnerships. You stay flexible thanks to open standards and clear documentation.

🇦🇹 Funding check
Which funding fits now?
Planning a digitalisation project in Austria? KMU.DIGITAL, Austria’s SME digitalisation programme, no longer accepts new applications: its budget is used up, and it will not continue from 2027. As a KMU.DIGITAL Certified Digital Consultant (CDC), I show you in a free funding check which programmes fit your project now.
What we clarify in a free 15-minute call with the founder of wunderwerk:
- Whether your company and your project are eligible
- Which funding programme is currently open
- What you need to consider before applying
- Which costs are eligible
Important: The safe order is: application first, costs afterwards. Only the funding body can decide.
Why us?
What else is on your mind?
Many projects touch more than one topic. Here are the other areas in which we support businesses.
Ready to put AI to good use in your business?
Whether it’s a first idea or a specific use case: in the 30-minute initial consultation, we clarify where AI pays off first for you and what the first step looks like.
Frequently asked questions about AI consulting
Your question isn’t here? We’ll answer it directly with the managing director in the free initial consultation.
What does AI consulting actually involve?
AI consulting finds out where AI makes economic sense in your business and how you get there. At wunderwerk, that means a workshop with your experts in which we examine processes, data and systems, assess use cases by benefit and effort and create a roadmap with a cost range. Unlike pure consultancies, we then also implement the roadmap, from prototype to operation.
How much do AI consulting and an AI project cost?
At wunderwerk, the initial consultation is free; after that, you commission each phase separately and know its cost range up front. An AI workshop with potential analysis is a manageable fixed price, and a first prototype usually takes a few weeks of development effort, depending on the use case. Costs depend mainly on the state of your data, the number of systems to connect and the approval steps, and you decide after each step whether to continue. You can get a first estimate via the cost calculator or in the initial consultation.
Is AI worthwhile for SMEs and mid-sized companies?
Yes, if the use case is right. AI pays off wherever many similar tasks come up every day, such as invoices, enquiries, quotes or documentation. wunderwerk works mainly with SMEs and mid-sized companies in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and deliberately starts with a use case whose benefit can be measured in hours and euros, rather than with a grand AI strategy.
What are AI agents, and isn’t ChatGPT or Copilot enough?
AI agents are programs that use language models to complete multi-step tasks on their own: read an email, look up the data in the ERP, draft a quote and submit it for approval. ChatGPT or Copilot is enough for individual texts and research; but as soon as AI is meant to work reliably with your data, automate processes and fit into ERP, CRM or email, you need a solution that knows permissions, data protection and your business rules. That is what wunderwerk builds: AI agents with clear permissions and approval steps, so decisions stay with people, rather than yet another chat window.
What is an AI operating system for businesses?
An AI operating system is your own software that brings a company’s data, processes and AI agents together in one place. Instead of spreading knowledge across Excel lists, Access databases and individual tools, employees and AI agents work on the same data and with the existing systems such as ERP or CRM. wunderwerk builds it step by step, starting with the process that delivers the greatest benefit. More on this on the page AI operating system instead of standard software.
Do we need a lot of data, and which AI models does wunderwerk use?
No, you don’t need large amounts of data to get started with AI: modern language models are pre-trained and work directly with your documents, emails and system data, without any training of your own. wunderwerk grounds answers in your company data with RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) and picks the model for each use case and its protection needs, without being tied to one provider: large cloud models such as GPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic) or Gemini (Google) under a data processing agreement, Mistral AI as a European provider, or open-weight models such as Mistral, Llama, Gemma or Qwen on-premise on your own hardware. We only train custom models when the use case really calls for it, for example image analysis in production.
How long does it take to see the first results?
At wunderwerk, a first AI prototype with your real data is usually ready in 4 to 6 weeks. Before that come the initial consultation and workshop, which together take a few days. This is followed by integration into your systems and rollout in your team, in short steps with regular test versions.
What happens to our data? Is it GDPR-compliant?
Yes, wunderwerk implements AI in compliance with the GDPR: your data stays in your ownership and is not used to train third-party models. wunderwerk hosts in the EU, on-premise or in a private cloud on request, and uses large cloud models only under a data processing agreement. We plan permissions, logging and the obligations under the GDPR and the EU AI Act in from the start. See secure software development for how wunderwerk builds security in from the start.
Can AI be integrated into our existing software, ERP or CRM?
Yes. wunderwerk connects AI via interfaces (APIs) to ERP, CRM, DMS, shop and specialist software, or builds language models directly into your existing application. Your systems remain in place; the AI complements them wherever work has so far been done manually. As a software agency with over 20 years of project experience, wunderwerk knows the integration work that many AI projects fail on.
Who looks after the AI solution once it is live?
wunderwerk keeps looking after AI solutions after rollout, with monitoring, quality measurement, maintenance and further development in live operation. On request, we then implement the next use case on the same data and rules. Some clients have been with us for more than ten years, the Egger Group for example since 2010; open technologies and documentation keep you independent along the way.
Is there funding for AI projects?
Yes, AI and digitalisation projects are funded in Austria, Germany and Switzerland through various programmes, depending on country, region, company size and project. However, KMU.DIGITAL, the Austrian SME programme, no longer accepts new applications and will not continue from 2027. Managing director Christoph Niedermoser is a KMU.DIGITAL Certified Digital Consultant and shows you which programmes apply to your project now, in a free funding check or the initial consultation.
Why wunderwerk as your AI agency, and where are you based?
wunderwerk combines AI consulting and implementation from a single source with over 20 years of project experience and more than 80 projects. We use AI ourselves: our own AI operating system, wunderOS, runs the company from sales to development. wunderwerk is a small team of AI engineers, software architects and full-stack developers with offices in Tyrol, Salzburg, Vienna and Berlin; we work remotely for clients in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and on site in Tyrol, Salzburg, Vienna and Berlin. You talk directly to the managing director and get software that holds up in operation, not a pilot project that gathers dust after the workshop.
