Who is wunderwerk and what does wunderwerk build?
wunderwerk (wunderwerk software GmbH) is a small developer team with its head office in St. Ulrich am Pillersee in the Kitzbühel district of Tyrol, Austria, and offices in Vienna and Berlin. How much does it cost to have an app or software developed?
The cost depends on the scope, which is why wunderwerk doesn’t quote a flat price. Features, interfaces, platforms and the state of your data determine the effort. Before the project starts you receive a transparent effort estimate, you commission each phase separately, and we begin with a clearly defined first step such as a prototype or MVP, so you can safeguard your investment step by step. You can get an initial estimate via the cost calculator or in a free initial consultation.
How long does it take to develop an app or software?
Depending on the scope, wunderwerk often delivers a working prototype in 4 to 8 weeks, and AI prototypes often in just 4 to 6 weeks. An initial concept with an effort estimate is usually ready within a few days. After that we build out the software in short iterations, with regular test versions and your feedback.
What does a software project with wunderwerk look like?
A project with wunderwerk starts with a free initial consultation and then runs in five steps: analysis, concept and quote, development, go-live, and maintenance and further development. Development usually starts with an MVP (minimum viable product): the first version with only the features real users need day to day. You see a usable version early and only invest in expanding it once it has proven itself. Your contact throughout is the managing director.
Which technologies does wunderwerk use?
wunderwerk builds on open, widely used technologies: TypeScript, React and Next.js for web applications, React Native for iOS and Android apps from a single codebase, and Laravel and PHP on the back end. Architecture, interfaces and operations are documented, so your software doesn’t depend on a builder platform, a per-user licence or a single developer. Which stack fits your project is decided by the project, not by preference.
How does wunderwerk handle data protection and the GDPR?
wunderwerk builds GDPR compliance in from the start and hosts software in the EU. On request your software runs on your own infrastructure, in a private cloud or, for Swiss clients, in a Swiss data centre under the Swiss FADP; a data processing agreement is part of it. For sensitive data, we can run AI solutions on-premise or in a private cloud.
How can businesses use AI effectively?
AI delivers the most where there are many manual or data-driven tasks, for example checking invoices, answering enquiries, writing quotes or analysing documents. wunderwerk first analyses processes, data and goals, estimates the economic benefit and then builds a prototype. Companies that want to connect several processes can build on that with their own AI operating system: software in which employees and AI agents work on the same data and with ERP or CRM. Can you take over existing software or a vibe coding project?
Yes, wunderwerk takes over existing software after a paid technical and commercial analysis. We review code, architecture, security, tests, documentation, operations and the rights to the source code, and show whether the system can be stabilised and developed further or whether a rebuild is more economical. This applies to software that has grown over the years as well as to prototypes built with AI tools such as Lovable or Cursor. Can you integrate existing systems such as ERP, CRM or an online shop?
Yes. wunderwerk connects ERP, CRM, shop, MES and other tools via interfaces (APIs), so data is entered only once and processes run without manual hand-offs. Your existing systems stay in place; we extend them where standard software reaches its limits. Find out more under Process automation and interfaces.
Is there funding for digitalisation projects?
Yes, many digitalisation, software and AI projects qualify for funding programmes; which ones apply depends on the country, region, company size and project. KMU.DIGITAL, the Austrian SME programme, no longer accepts new applications and will not continue from 2027. Do you continue to support the software after go-live?
Yes. After go-live wunderwerk runs, monitors, maintains and supports your software and extends it with new features. We have been looking after many of our clients for more than ten years, the Egger Group for example since 2010.
