Learning platform & LMS development from Austria

Have an online learning platform built that you own

Have your video courses, academy or staff training outgrown off-the-shelf platform builders? We develop your own learning platform (LMS) with video courses, learning paths, certificates and a subscription model, connected to your systems and GDPR-compliant in the EU. That is how we have been developing and supporting ziachfuchs.com for more than ten years, today with over 30,000 users.

  • 80+ projects
  • 5.0 on Google
  • EU & GDPR first
  • Initial consultation directly with the managing director – free & non-binding

Where do your courses stand right now?

Whether you sell video courses, are building an academy or training your team: we meet you where you are today and build the platform your next step needs.

Sell video courses by subscription

“Our courses are selling, but the platform builder is holding us back on pricing, features and fees.”

For course providers, online schools and coaches with an established offering: your own video course platform with a members’ area, free trial, monthly or annual subscription and automatic invoicing, under your brand.

  • Video courses
  • Subscription model
  • Members’ area

Build your own online academy

“Our members should find courses, exams and certificates in one place.”

For continuing education providers, associations and academies: course catalogue, learning paths, exams and certificates, roles for trainers and participants, course bundles and licences for organisations.

  • Online academy
  • Certificates
  • Learning paths

Train employees digitally

“Our onboarding and mandatory training run on folders, emails and Excel.”

For companies with training needs: a learning platform for onboarding, product and compliance training with learning progress and records, connected to your existing systems and logins.

  • Staff training
  • Onboarding
  • LMS

Evolve an existing platform

“Our platform has grown, but every change is getting harder.”

You already have a learning platform, for example on Moodle, a WordPress plugin or an older in-house build? We assess what can stay and rebuild or extend it step by step, without your participants losing access. More on software modernisation.

  • Migration
  • Relaunch
  • Further development

What your learning platform needs to do

We build every platform around your content, your participants and your business model. These six building blocks are what most course providers, academies and companies need.

Video courses, modules & learning paths

Videos, texts, downloads and assignments in courses and modules, with individual learning paths for each target group. Participants always see where they stand and what comes next.

Subscriptions, trials & invoices

Monthly and annual subscriptions, free trial periods, course bundles or one-off purchases. Payment and invoicing run automatically, so recurring revenue doesn’t create admin work.

Quizzes, assignments & certificates

Knowledge checks after every lesson, assignment submission with feedback and certificates issued automatically on completion. For learning success you can prove.

Roles, licences & admin area

You manage courses, videos, users and subscriptions yourself. Roles for trainers, support or corporate clients, company licences with a separate area for each organisation.

Motivation & learning success

Progress indicators, small rewards, reminders and push notifications keep participants engaged. Analytics show you where learners get stuck.

Mobile & well connected

Learning on phone, tablet or computer, as a web app or, if you wish, as an app for iOS and Android. Integrations with payment providers, CRM, newsletter, shop or company login.

Platform builder or your own learning platform?

ablefy (formerly elopage), Memberspot, Coachy, Kajabi or Moodle are a good start. Your own platform only pays off once your offering has outgrown them. And honestly, that isn’t the case for everyone.

A platform builder is enough if …

  • you are testing your first course offering and don’t yet know whether it will sell.
  • your courses, prices and processes fit the provider’s templates.
  • the monthly fee and commissions are small relative to your revenue.
  • the platform doesn’t need to work with your own systems.

Your own platform pays off if …

  • your offering is established and you want to grow with subscriptions, trials, bundles or company licences.
  • per-user fees or per-sale commissions keep rising with every participant.
  • your teaching method needs features no platform builder offers.
  • participant, payment and course data should stay with you, GDPR-compliant in the EU.
  • the platform has to work with CRM, accounting, membership management, shop or company login.

Not planning a learning offering, but a portal for customers and partners or your own SaaS product? Then our page Customer portal, configurator & SaaS development is the right place to start.

Video learning platform with subscriptions: ziachfuchs.com

The online harmonica school Ziachfuchs teaches the Styrian harmonica, a diatonic button accordion, with video lessons. We developed the learning platform for them as SaaS: new users start with a free three-month trial and then choose a monthly or annual subscription.

  • Over 30,000 users
  • Client for more than ten years
  • Version 3 recently released

“Whatever we ask for, almost everything is made possible, and the personal, ongoing contact works brilliantly.”

How we build your learning platform

No big project with an annual plan. We start with a lean first version that real participants use, then expand step by step. After every step, you decide whether to continue.

  1. 1

    Initial consultation

30 minutes with the managing director: your learning offering, your target group, your business model. You get an honest assessment of whether your own platform makes sense for you or a platform builder is enough. Free and non-binding.

  2. 2

Workshop: learning concept & business model

Together we clarify content, learning paths, pricing and subscription model, roles and integrations, and define what belongs in the first version. The result: a clear scope with a transparent cost range. If we see that the business model won’t hold up, we’ll tell you openly.

  3. 3

First version in a few weeks

We develop a lean MVP with the features your participants really need, such as video courses, access and payment. You see concrete value early on and test along the way.

  4. 4

    Content, pilot & launch

Your courses move onto the platform, and we migrate existing participants and content wherever possible. A pilot group tests it, then the platform goes live for everyone.

  5. 5

    Operation & expansion

Hosting, maintenance, updates and new features from a single source. That way the platform grows with your offering, as ziachfuchs.com has for more than ten years, up to version 3.

AI writes code. We build software.

Thanks to wunderOS and our wunderFactory.

AI has opened up programming to everyone: anyone can put a prototype together today. Whether it turns into software that holds up in day-to-day operation is decided afterwards – in architecture, security, testing and maintenance over the years. That is exactly where prompting and real expertise part ways.

That is why we built our own operating system: wunderOS runs our company from sales to development. At its heart is the wunderFactory, where our AI agents, the wunderBots, build to the architecture rules, standards and tests from 20 years of software development – led by experienced software architects.

The result is software built noticeably faster and more affordably – in the quality you hire us for. We are AI experts and use that to get the best out of your project.

What you get out of it:

  • More software for the same budget

The wunderBots handle the routine work. You pay for architecture, decisions and results – not for legwork.

  • Live in weeks, not months

From the workshop to the first usable version, with changes after that in days. You see early on what works.

  • Quality is built in, not bolted on

Tests, reviews and security checks run automatically in the wunderFactory with every change – not just when there is time.

  • Architects, not prompters

The AI executes, we decide: data model, interfaces, operations. That way your software stays maintainable and extensible five years from now.

Bottom line: Bespoke software on terms that make sense for SMEs too – built with AI, with software architects accountable for it.

AI-generated.

How much will it cost?

Your platform, your participants, your data

On a platform builder, you rent features and reach. With your own learning platform, you own the software, the customer relationship and the data, and you decide for yourself how your offering grows.

For us as a team from Austria, this is not an add-on but the norm: EU & GDPR first.

  • No platform commission on your revenue

You pay for development, hosting and support, not a share of every course or subscription sold.

  • You own the source code

Open, widely used technologies such as TypeScript, React, Next.js and Laravel, clearly documented. No dependency on a platform builder or a single developer.

  • Hosting in the EU, GDPR-compliant

Participant, payment and learning data stay in the EU. We plan data processing agreements, roles and deletion concepts from the start.

  • Software that lasts

We build platforms that run and evolve for years instead of gathering dust after launch.

Not just clients. Partners.

We focus on long-term partnerships. You stay flexible thanks to open standards and clear documentation.

We had the wunderworkers develop bespoke industrial software for creating recipes for a highly sensitive industrial process.

The collaboration was extremely professional from the outset: the team quickly understood our complex requirements, implemented them precisely and always paid close attention to maximum reliability and security. I would particularly like to highlight their technical know-how, clean documentation and fast response times for questions or change requests.

The recipe editor is now running in several plants in Sweden, Italy and the Czech Republic.

The software runs reliably, is intuitive to use and our customers are completely satisfied. We can recommend wunderwerk without reservation!

Ready for your own learning platform?

Whether it’s a first idea or an established course offering: in a 30-minute initial consultation we clarify whether your own platform pays off for you and what the first version looks like.

Frequently asked questions about your own learning platform

Your question isn’t listed? We’ll answer it in a free initial consultation, directly with the managing director.

How much does it cost to have a learning platform developed?

That depends on the scope: the number of features, payment and subscription model, roles and licences, integrations and your requirements for design and app. That’s why wunderwerk doesn’t quote a flat price but gives you a transparent cost range after the workshop. We deliberately start with a lean first version and expand afterwards, so you invest step by step. You can get an initial estimate via the cost calculator or in the initial consultation.

How long does it take until my learning platform is online?

With wunderwerk, a first working version is often online within a few weeks. This is made possible by a lean scope (MVP), clear processes and the targeted use of AI in development through our wunderbots. We then expand the platform step by step while your participants are already using it.

What is an LMS and how does it differ from a learning platform?

An LMS (learning management system) is software you use to provide courses, manage participants, track learning progress and issue certificates. The terms learning platform, e-learning platform and LMS are mostly used interchangeably. wunderwerk develops custom learning platforms that combine both: a great learning experience for participants and simple administration for you.

Your own learning platform or ablefy, Memberspot, Coachy and Kajabi?

To get started, a platform builder such as ablefy (formerly elopage), Memberspot, Coachy or Kajabi is often the better choice. Your own platform pays off once your offering is established and you hit limits: with pricing and subscription models, features for your teaching method, fees that rise with every participant, integrations or the wish to own your data and customer relationships yourself. In the initial consultation, wunderwerk tells you openly what suits your situation.

Is Moodle an alternative to a custom learning platform?

For schools, universities and traditional course delivery, Moodle is a proven solution with no licence fees. If you want to sell video courses by subscription, build your own brand or offer particularly simple navigation, you have to customise Moodle heavily and maintain it continuously. wunderwerk assesses with you whether customisation is enough or whether your own platform will be simpler and cheaper to run in the long term.

How do I make money with my own learning platform?

With subscription models, course bundles, one-off purchases or add-ons such as coaching, bundles and company licences. The advantage over in-person teaching: your offering can be sold any number of times. wunderwerk builds trials, subscriptions, payment and invoicing so that they run automatically, as with ziachfuchs.com and its free trial followed by a monthly or annual subscription.

Can I manage courses, users and subscriptions myself later on?

Yes. wunderwerk gives you a clear admin area where you maintain courses, videos, modules, subscriptions and users yourself. If you wish, you can assign roles and permissions, for example for trainers, support or corporate clients, without needing developers.

Is your own learning platform suitable for staff training?

Yes, especially when a standard LMS doesn’t fit your processes. wunderwerk develops learning platforms for companies, for example for onboarding, product and compliance training, with learning paths for each role, learning progress, certificates and records. The platform can be connected to existing systems and your company login, so employees don’t need yet another password.

Can existing courses and participants be migrated?

Usually, yes. In the workshop, wunderwerk checks which content, user and subscription data your current provider or platform can export, and plans the move so that participants keep their access. Anything that can’t be migrated automatically, we point out in advance.

Is the learning platform also available as an app?

Yes. Every wunderwerk learning platform runs as a web app in the browser on phone, tablet and computer. If push notifications, offline use or a place in the app stores matter to you, we also develop an app for iOS and Android on the same foundation.

Is your own learning platform GDPR-compliant?

Yes, if it is planned that way from the start. wunderwerk hosts your learning platform in the EU, concludes a data processing agreement and plans roles, permissions and deletion concepts from the outset. Participant, payment and learning data stay with you rather than with a platform provider beyond your control.

Who is a custom learning platform suitable for?

For anyone whose learning offering has outgrown platform builders: course providers, coaches and trainers with an established offering, continuing education providers, music schools, academies and associations, training companies and businesses with centrally managed training, as well as start-ups building a scalable learning product. wunderwerk works with clients in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Is there funding for a learning platform?

Depending on the country, region, company size and project, digitalisation grants may be available, in Austria for example KMU.DIGITAL, the Austrian government funding programme for the digitalisation of SMEs. wunderwerk carries out an initial funding check with you and shows which options suit your project.
